I bought the phone new a few years ago. Prior to that I had a flip phone which was fine except I wanted to have a new cell phone so I could take and store a few pictures. Anyway this phone came with 8 Gb of device memory. Recently it began giving me indications that memory was too full so I bought and installed a sd card with lots more memory. I can't figure out what to do to make the phone begin to function correctly. I took it to the place where I bought it and she mostly indicated I was a cheapskate and just to buy a new phone. Please, can someone advise me regarding this issue. I have googled it but it seems I never got anywhere.

Have you checked the default memory storage settings ? On my prior Samsung phones, you can select where your data is stored. I have had the option to store data/pictures in the phone memory or the SD card. I can't confirm if your phone has that option. What OS version of Android do you have installed ?? Try searching the internet using those key phrases. Best wishes.

You really should get a new phone. That was a budget phone... in 2014. You would be a lot happier with a cheap mid ranger today.
You need to either get the photos off of the phone or move them to the SD CARD by connecting it to your computer.
How big is the SD Card? Open the camera. There should be SETTIGNS or a GEAR icon in there. Find that and there will be an option to SAVE PICS ON THE CARD.
