Problem putting videos on itouch.... (computer, itunes, iPod, transfer)

hello.....
i have put some downloaded videos in my itunes (movie section) and when i try to transfer it to my itouch (plugged in to computer), it takes FOREVER, and then it finally gives me a message saying:

"some of the items in the itunes library, including "name", were not copied to the ipod because they can't be played on this ipod"

what is this all about???
how do i get my videos on there? :-)

Do you have a Mac or PC?

The movies need to be in a file format that can be played by the Touch, probably mp4. I have used a free converter called Videora to do this - there are others out there, I'm sure.
