I'm kind of surprised no one posted about this, but Apple released today the info on the new iPhone, and it looks like a solid, if not groundbreaking, upgrade for the line regarding hardware, plus the software will be available on the past two generations of iPhones for free.

Sadly, still locked to AT&T, and with OS4 a free upgrade, there's a strong chance you won't miss having a new iPhone.

I got my 3gs last July with a 2 year commitment. I checked my upgrade option a week ago and it said I had another year left. I checked it today and said that as a valued AT&T customer I was eligible for a upgrade. Must be giving their iphone customers the option to upgrade early without fees.

Check your upgrade to see if you qualify. I'm so excited about the video calling.

I bought the 3GS last week --- Yes, I knew the new phone was coming, but the WM deal was too good to beat, and is still cheaper than the 3GS phones will be at AT&T --- I am very happy to know that I will be getting the upgrade. It feels like I am getting a new phone all over again on June 21.

The screen looks nice but that's it, as far as I can tell. What's groundbreaking about it?

The gyroscope, video conferencing, 5 mega pixel camera, camera flash, and iMovies movie maker just to name a few.
