This is just a curiosity on my part...but seems to be a common topic of discussion so I'm just putting it out there to see what happens. If you're a woman in your 30's to say 50's...how's the dating scene in Charleston? By "dating" I don't mean, "meeting up", "hanging out", "burping up a Budweiser on the beach" "young man seeking a cougar experience" or "don't tell my wife I'm out tonight". I mean gentlemen actually asking a lady out for dinner, a movie, calling the next day, and possibly seeking a relationship. I've found this town to be very difficult as far as finding professional, datable, good men. Any comments? Is it my imagination? or is there a serious "dateable man drought" in Charleston, SC? Don't be shy ladies...this is serious research.

this wasn't a solicitation for prospective dates at all...it was a question to women, who live in Charleston, SC about their dating experiences and the men they meet...

Well, the answers here should give you an indication.

I'm not single. I brought my partner when I moved which we are both thankful for (yikes is right) but it seems like all my friends are single.

For them it's tough. I have one friend in particular who is beautiful, friendly, successful, independent and fun to be around who is 30. She was recently taken on a lunch date to Five Loaves Cafe and then her date demanded her to split the $13 check.

It's tough out there for quality dates as I hear it. But, get out there-go to places where you believe a suitable date would be found and network.

Good luck!
