I am needing to get new cell service while I am still here in Alabama but want to make sure that the service will work at Boeing and in the Summerville area when we move down there.

I was hoping for Verizon but dont want to get something that isnt going to work worth a crud.

Thanks guys.

Verizon is most likely your best bet. They have the best local coverage.

I asked the same question in an earlier post of mine and Verizon came back as the best bet.

We already use Verizon here in NYC.
BUT... when my wife went down to close on the house and would call me from our new house, the reception was spotty to even incoherent in the house.

Coverage in an area is one thing, but coverage within ones own home it turns out is another

My neice in another area, cannot use her cell to make nor receive calls within her home... (not Verizon but another company).

We will stick with Verizon so far, our contract expired, so we are month to month at the same discounted price and will see over the next few weeks.

Advice from me, keep your existing company if you can and after the move see how it goes obviously.

Inside the Boeing facility, Verizon is the only service that works. They put a special antenna on top of the building just for that.

I also have Verizon, and can look out my kitchen window and see the cell antenna, but there is a couple of spots in my house where my phone does not work so good.
I have complained about it,,,,but nothing was done.................

My mobile works fine (Nokia N82 / AT&T). It would probably work fine with T Mobile/Deutsche Telekom too since they probably share towers in the area.

I will not recommend sprint. I do not work at the Boeing building, but I live off of Dorchester Rd in Summerville. My cell signal is very poor in that area. I can't say if Verizon's is better.
