My partner and I are young professionals moving from Chicago to Charleston in August. My partner will work downtown, and I work in the non-profit sector, likely from home or from an office we'll open in the area. We're both activists, and are looking to live in an area that is at least somewhat walkable, ideally with a grocery store and some nighttime activities within walking range.
We have no kids and don't plan to have any, so schools aren't a major concern for us.
We're looking to rent something with two or three bedrooms, 1200+ sq ft. Our upper limit is around $1200/mo excluding utilities.
Any advice on good areas to look? So far I've identified Park Circle, but I've had troubling finding other neighborhoods that we might be interested in.
Inner West Ashley, like Avondale, or Windermere might be good spots to check into as well. Also, Park West, Old Village Mount Pleasant, etc. Daniel Island and I'on could work as well, but the rents might be a bit higher.
