Mt.Pleasant Pre-K options (for a 4 year old) (Charleston: lease, house)

Hello, everyone.
First I'd like to thank everybody who is sharing information about your area on this forum. It's been a great resourse for our family. We are relocating to Charleston area this summer. My husband already signed a lease on a house in Park West (Mt.Pleasant) so my second grader will attend Laurel Hill elementary. I am very happy. Ca't wait to move!

Now I have only a couple of questions I need to clerify before our move.

Can you, please, recommend a good pre-K for my 4 year old around Park West? Where we are right now to get a spot in Pre-K is almost impossible unless you've regestered a year in advance so I am a little apprehensive

Second, I am looking for a good Sunday school for my kids. Denomination is not really important. They are baptised to be Catholics but currently attend Baptist Church I've looked the local churches up online but they don't seem to have a lot of info on their websites. Before I start researching in depth I hope you can help me narrow down to a couple of churches that have great kid program, kids choire and stuff like that.

I live in Park West also, great family neighborhood. You missed the Pre K registration at the local schools but it might not hurt to try as this is free. My daughter is enrolled in the program and loves it! Below is a list of other preschools. The Parks And Recreation also has a preschool but it fills up quickly so now is the time to call.
Other schools close by are Sunshine House, The Childrens Center at Carolina Park( most expensive and highly rated), Stepping Stones, Lighthouse, Check out local church schools and Star Fish Academy.

Other Mt. P. preschools to consider:

Hibben UMC Preschool (this would be more than a 10 minute drive for you, but as of a few days ago I think they still had some openings)

Coastal Christian Preparatory School (part of First Baptist Mt. Pleasant)

Palmetto Christian Academy (part of East Cooper Baptist)

St. Andrew's Day School (there is a waiting list)


A vibrant, growing church very close to Park West is The Church at LifePark. It is affiliated with First Baptist Mt. Pleasant.
