Hello everybody, hope everyone is doing well. I have a couple questions if anyone could be willing to help.

I want to relocate to Charleston, South Carolina to start my family with my wife. We are from Cleveland and Dayton, Ohio. Charleston appeals to us for several reasons: weather, bigger tourism industry than hometown, and just the right size for us.

Her degree is tourism and event planning and she is looking to land a job at a hotel. My degrees are in accounting and tax and I have been talking to small to medium size CPA firms, and corporate accounting departments.

If anyone is familiar with the tourism or accounting industry in Charleston, SC I would love to hear any suggestions for moving to your city.

Our budget is about $850 a month or less starting out for renting apartment or house. I hear Mt. Pleasant and Summerville are very nice places to live and commute to downtown for work.

Have a nice day!
Matt

$850.00 is doable in Summerville, might get you an efficency in MtP and a room in DT.......

There are a couple of real nice appartments just off of the interstate in Summerville, Traditions and Vista Sands, Vista is the nicer from what I hear.......

Good luck...

Actually, you will be able to get a one bedroom and possibly a 2 bedroom apartment in Mt. Pleasant for $850 a month. I pay $850 a month for a 2 bedroom. I really like the area, plus I have great neighbors. You just really need to search for what you are looking for.

Where do you live for that price?? We are looking into Mt. Pleasant and could use the insiders info!

And to the OP-- Vista Sands in Summerville is BEAUTIFUL! I would absolutely check it out. We took a tour when we visited and fell in love.

We have owned our 32yo home in the Sangaree area of Summerville for 10 years, and when the Navy sent us to New England for 6 years we rented it out for $800-$900. We used R&B Properties as our property managers; you might check out their website and see what they have availably. I enjoy the neighborhoods out here because the yards are nice and big and property is reasonably priced. Traffic is a PITA, though. :-)

I am checking out the R&B Properties website right now.

Does anybody know the market for accountants in Charleston?
