Moving either to naples fl or charleston sc from long island, ny.
I have researched both but i am so confused and dont know anymore.

please any advice you can give on either would be great. Jobs? Shopping? which areas? good restaurants?

I am only 21 and getting my degree online so school isnt a concern for me right now, just a part time job.

Have you visited either places? I'd invest in a trip to see what feels good to you. Do you have family/friends in both cities?

I can tell you I have family in Naples Florida and it is lovely if you can afford to live in the nice areas. It is very expensive for housing and the hurricane insurance will cost you much more than here. The summers are longer and more humid than here. Although I love visiting I would not want to live there.

I was going to say naples is old folks land. They also are a heavy snowbird area. Where they actually have "seasons" where its busy then goes dead. Also the cost of living there is really wierd there. Talking like $10-11 value meals at McDs, also talking I was hearing that cart pushers at grocery stores made like $12 an hour.

I imagine rent and such is similar, I spent about 2 weeks here doing work at a location.

Charleston - hands down if your are 21. Loads of young people in Charleston and loads of retirees in Naples.
