I have lived in Charleston many years, but I do not like boiled peanuts. I like roasted peanuts! But, my wife does like boiled peanuts and she is from Brasil!

I like roasted way better too The boiled peanuts kind of taste like beans or something...definitely different!

Yeah, put me in the roasted column. The boiled, soggy peanuts? I can do without 'em.

I've tried them a few times, and I just can't get past the odd texture. This weekend we had fried peanuts. Those were yummy, but they hold a lot of the grease they are cooked in. I had three, and that was enough.

No, they're gross. Roasted peanuts are 100x better.

Boiled peanuts are this region's Vegemite. Something that tastes bad that the locals say they love for some unexplainable reason.

Tried them the first time 15 years ago when we moved to the Atlanta area. I've had them and liked them and had them and hated them. Not worth it for me. I would rather get my protein/fat from other food sources.
