Ok, I knew that SC has them..and poisonous ones at that. However, it seems Daniel Island as more than their fare share. In the last 2 weeks there have been 2 cottonmouths and 1 rattlesnake in the parking garage where we live. We think they've been coming from the construction in the field across the street. Is there anything that can be done about them? Some kind of exterminators/specialists, etc.

Thanx.

I have no idea what to do about the snakes, but I just wanted to ask if you took any pictures. That would freak me out to see them so close while at home. Did they just go back outside on their own?

Ha ha..that is funny! Can I borrow it?

I didn't see them personally but I have come to find out that my 5 yr old was about 1 ft. from the rattlesnake just before it was discovered.

It was our neighbors. That came across them.

It's just that you're in 'their' territory. Daniel Island is still a young developement, same when areas are developed and people want the alligators out. You just moved into their natural area, you shouldn't try to kill it.

FWIW there was actually a deer at my community pool the other day. My kid loved it.

Are they in your home's garage or a multiple car parking garage? If it is in your home garage, I'd try to find out where they are coming in.

When I lived in the Charlotte area, my neighbor had so many poisonous snakes in her yard. I never saw one in mine but I think I had my dogs to thank for that.....
