Thinking of buying in new area to be built in Park West. Heard things about airplane noise and the lights that flash at night. Can anyone tell me if this concern is real? Don't want to get a bad deal!

The airport generally deals with small privately owned single engine prop planes. Some times they are at an altitude that is louder than others but most of the time it isn't that big of a deal. As I type this of course there is a plane that has been flying around this morning pretty low and is louder than most. Probably practicing touch and goes.

I will say that the airport is busier than many airfields its size. I know they are developing an area that backs up to the field itself. Personally I wouldn't want one of these lots. But, if you're looking in Masonboro/Andover it shouldn't be to much of a problem. I will give you fair warning that the ARB in Park West is a highly opinionated pain in the butt to work with. Meeting the building guidelines in the covenants typically isn't enough. You'll need to meet what they feel is appropriate for your home.

Good luck

Thanks IsNull. It's actually the new Kingsbridge townhouses, on Grey Marsh. And yes, scuba Steve, I went out there last night and the lights did not seem that harsh but people did mention it. Hard to tell on undeveloped land exactly where/if lights hit your house. I was hoping maybe a reader could relate to the lighting question.

I commend you on checking it out. Many buy near something like that then become the first to complain about it like the fools did not know it was there. Many of those that bought along I526 in MTP come to mind. Demanding sound barriers.....LOL
