maezy,
Are you looking for Peninsula only? Is that what stating "Charleston" means to you? Or are you open to the larger city limits including West Ashley? And what about Mt. P or beaches? Any interest? I got the idea that you want to be able to walk to dinner or cultural events, have a neighborhood that easily gives you these, true?

What price range are you looking in? There is a condo group in MP with a similar urban style to 1 Cool Blow, but they are going to run significantly higher.
Can you be more specific about what you are looking for?

Seeing as though we arent very familiar with the city & its surrounding areas, i dont know. It seems as though the penisula is charleston and the outlying areas are not, am i right? We are open to any suggestions you might have. You are right about being able to access culture, dinner etc easily, but we dont have to be in walking distance. Also we arent stuck on a condo, but our first thought is that it might be a better option than a house since we will be spending limited time there, maybe not. Can you recommend a reputable realator? Could you elaborate on mt. Pleasant & west ashley. We also wondered about daniel island. Our budget is $500,000,

MrP mentioned the condos on the Cooper River in Mt P. The Tides or the Renaissance would give you easy access to the peninsula, lovely setting to walk in under the Ravenel Bridge & sit out on a balcony, & utterly safe.

Many, including myself, consider peninsula Charleston as being downtown Charleston. Charleston city limits are actually spread out including most of West Ashley, Daniel Island, and fair amount of James and Johns Islands. Mt. Pleasant is a separate town. Your budget should put you in a nice place in any of these areas.

West Ashley - The Crescent (if you can find a place in your budget / nicest neighborhood outside of downtown in the city IMO), Avondale and Byrnes Down. Wesapee Plantation is a good one too.

If you're looking for a second home, or are considering something downtown, then I'd certainly recommend some of the condos downtown south of Calhoun. I'd look into places like those on George street, Harleston Village, French Quarter and South of Broad areas. You should be able to find plenty available in that price range. If you're looking for something a bit less urban, then I'd focus on inner Mount Pleasant, i.e. areas around Old Village, Coleman Blvd., etc.

If you can stand to be 30+ minutes or so from downtown, then your options open up considerably. What specifics are you looking for in the property?
