Katie, don't let the palmetto bugs keep you away. I was terrified of them before moving here and have found out they really aren't that big of a deal. I don't get them too often in the house. It has been several months since I have had one in the house. The last one that I had I actually let it in the house by accident! I knew it was outside and still opened the door for my dog. As soon as I opened the door it came running in!

Thanks you guys, I keep trying to tell myself that I'll get used to the palmetto bugs and that I'm blowing it out of proportion, it really helps to hear others confirm that they aren't that big of a deal! It's almost kind of funny...I mean, you would think that the humidity would be more of a concern for me, but I actually like it! (and I can wear contacts in humid climates which is a huge bonus for me!!) Thanks again
