I'll be back. I hope next time I have MORE of an opportunity to stay and experience the area. My visit was priceless, though way too short.

I'm glad many of you like the painting. I wanted to share it with you all and really say you have a wonderful place in Charleston!

The one thing I just loved is the city ordnance not allowing business buildings to be higher than church steeples. I hope that law stays in effect. too many cities with skylines that are defiled.

i had a chance to go back to San Diego a bit ago. I was originally out there for boot camp in the Navy in 1985. The Hotel Del Coronado was SURROUNDED by these Gawd awful condos and was almost hidden from view. Such a sin, what the city planners allowed to happen to that beautiful landmark.

Market Street, the Churches, the exchange, so much beauty! I hope it stays that way!

Wow. That is so good to know. I have had San Diego on my to-do list for so long. I still want to see it but I have had a vision and it certainly didn't include buildings like that. I envisioned Charleston style Adobe style, etc. I too am glad Charleston has kept it's "heritage."

You have to see Hotel del Coronado if you get out there in SD. ALso, Point Loma offers the best views of the bay as well as the pacific!

I had a good chuckle at this. San Diego has a population of over 1.25 million people compared to roughly 150,000 between Charleston and North Charleston. It's a great city, and so much fun to visit, but it's much more like Atlanta, Seattle or Denver (although double the population size of each of those cities too) just with nifty beaches on the western edge.
