Wow! Tks to everyone who contributed to this post! such great info and really helps us plan on how much costs will be. Any recommendations as to where the best area to live would be based on a good salary and a few young kids? 11 to 18 years old? TY

If in Mount Pleasant, then Park West would be ideal for those age kids. Especially the younger ones.

Default home owners

Who do you use for home owners insurance in Mt. P?

I have a home built in 1954, 2100 sq ft. Not in flood zone.

The quotes I have so far are quite high. What should I pay?

There are too many variables to consider but one factor that raises your rates is the age of the home. If you've had the electrical system upgraded, windows, roof, then you can get some discounts. Check with Taylor agency (Talk to Hilary there and tell her I sent you) CT Lowndes, and Wynn Agency. Who has the best rates will vary with each situation. I ended with QBE which I got through Wells Fargo.
