Thank you everyone for the information!! It has been very helpful! We have been through Dunes West before, but we will go through PW and DW again this week and check out the shops/restaurants.

There really aren't any 'shops' in the Park West/Publix center. Just a handful of businesses (mostly service businesses).

I forgot to mention our youngest goes to Gymnastics Academy of Charleston, she's 3. We've liked it.

We liked both the LIfe Park campus for First Baptist as well as Seacoast.

I split time between Park West and Waxhaw in NC. I know Baxter pretty well. Depending on what section of PW you move into (its a big development, with many neighborhoods), you won't find exactly what you have in Baxter. The OP noted the few restaurants and stores that are directly in PW. My kids are middle schoolers so I can do much for you as far as daycare or churches (there aren't any churches in PW directly). The pool area is nice but it is 2 pools for the whole area and in the summer it gets crowded. The tennis courts are next to the pool and are very nice. I know that tennis lessons are given there. Depending on where you move to, you might want to invest in a golf cart. Pretty easy to reach a lot of what has already been described. There is a great park in PW with soccer and ball fields and an awesome track. It also has a playground and a small off leash dog play area. My kids love that.

There are both Park West and a Dunes West Area Moms Clubs. I'm in the Dunes West one, and there are great activities throughout the month for both moms with kids as well as moms nights out. And yes, there is both a Bunco and a book club

I've seen it but haven't tried it, there is a Mexican restaurant back there with Joey's. I do wish Joey's was open in the afternoons/evenings... would've loved that when I was coaching cross country out there!

Would love to hear more about what you did with XC. My daughter is big into it and is competing at the Jr. Olympic level. Would like to know about opportunities around MTP that she could do when we are in town. We run at the track at MTP P&R which is awesome. But she wants to do some trail runs and haven't found any.
