We bought it the first year we moved here 'cause I hate fussing with parking spots. The next year my husband talked me into NOT getting one and I never have had a problem. When we had a pass, if we got to the beach late in the day on Saturday -- like at 11:00 -- not on a holiday week end....we had to wait in line to get in.

Haven't had any problems getting a spot since.

You might get one this year...but be warned....that part of the beach is the worst part of Isle of Palm Beach. You have to walk quite a ways to get away from the crowds, especially as the day goes on.

Back in NYC, Brooklyn specifically... never had to worry about parking when we went to the beach.
Why you might ask.... or might not ask, because your not interested
Amazingly... we walked to the beach !
Yup, lived about 1 mile to the beach and walked......... lovely !

Here we purchased the Gold Pass and go to the IOP parking lot.
Works best for us as we have our 4 yr old and lugging his toys, chairs, umbrella (this year I get a canopy), showers... but mostly because that is where the other families with kids are.. so they play together and share each others toys.

Great time each time we go there !

Went to Wild Dunes once through some friends and it was desolate... did not like the 'seclusion'.

Same in NYC,, we would plop our beach blanket near whose ever boom box music we liked.. we liked the crowds
