Hello,

From my limited online research, I really like the Charleston style homes in White Gables as well as the homes in Reminisce. I live in Columbia right now and want to move to Summerville this summer. I do have two dogs that love to play fetch and concerned about the backyard sizes in White Gables. I don't need a huge backyard, but enough for my dogs to go chase a ball. At least 30FT long would be plenty. Are the backyards there big enough for dogs that love to play fetch? I did notice from pictures that showed backyards, there's a walk path from the garage to the house as well. I'm looking at houses around 150K to 170K. What about in Reminisce? Are the backyards a little bigger there?

I don't know about reminisce but unless you have small dogs the yards at White Gables are too small, the distance from my porch to my back fence is about 40 yards, when my wife's yellow lab was still with us I could throw a tennis ball all the way to the fence and if I didn't make him stay when I threw it he would catch it on the second bounce before it hit the fence.....

There were some ok sized yards there but not many and only on the more expensive houses. But I do think they had lots of open areas.

You meant 40 FT, right? I just measured the area that my dogs play and it's roughly 48 FT by 48 FT, and it's plenty big. I think 40 FT may be okay. Are all of the lot sizes around 40 FT in length from the house to the garage? Are there lot sizes that's longer than 40 FT, but would those be only available to expensive homes?

120 feet isn't that far.

40 feet? I fish boats bigger than that. Heck, I helped a friend build one 50% bigger than that! LoL

I can understand that if you don't have a great concept of length, that 40 yards can sound like a great distance. When in reality it is less than 8 average cars back to back.

As another reference...40 feet? That's 2.5 average cars bumper to bumper...think about that distance.

I believe even the smallest houses will have like a 40 ft. yard. Its plenty for my 9 lbs wiener dog.

I think I have like 40, yards... The dog running is a 75 lbs st. bernard/chow/golden mix(my mom's visiiting) That when he stands on his rear legs, his paws sit on my shoulders(but I am 6'5")
