Does anyone know anything about St. Johns Crossing on Bee Balm Road on Johns Island?

Location seems good, and the houses are very cute, but I just saw lots of negative reviews about the builder - used to be Meridian, now Catalyst Homes.

They also did (are doing) the development Carol Oaks in Mount Pleasant.

Would appreciate some honest feedback about either of these.

OK, well this is very strange. There was a post on this forum last night on Meridian builders, saying there houses were inferior, and the company had gone bankrupt. People talked about windows that leaked, roofs that leaked, improper insulation, nails through pvc kitchen plumbing, and on and on, just saying it was NOT a quality product. Someone commented "now Meridian is Catalyst Builders, building more crap".

The post is no longer there - hmmmm....

Anyway, would like opinions. Cute is cute, but if a house isn't sound doesn't matter. They are very inexpensive so makes you wonder why. the reason we want a new house is to cut down on repairs since we will be on a fixed income. Certainly don't want to end up buying a pig in a poke.

Their other communities are - in addition to Carol Oaks and St. Johns Crossing -

Bluff Estates - doesn't say where this is
Battery Gaillard - West Ashley
Magnolia Walk - James Island
