I am curious what the rates are and if they are affect by being in a Hurricane zone?

In my area the 'average' family home is 600-1000 a year dependign on size etc.

How does Charleston compare?

Generally about .75-1% of the purchase price, all things being equal and assuming no prior history, or enhanced flood/wind risk. Flood zones and wind pool locations can add a few hundred to a few thousand to those amounts, depending on the location involved.
