Unfortunately some folks assume that a safer intersection means 500 more cars per day will mysteriously want to drive through the neighborhood...

On the 526 front- it would actually be a big relief for people living close in West Ashley or between the connector/Wappoo Bridge/Johns Island on James Island as all those commuters bottle neck as they find their way downtown or to the Crosstown.
The County is working on four Savannah Highway intersection improvements at Dupont/Stinson, Wappoo, Magnolia, and Avondale/Nicholson. Link here if you're interested in the details.

The SCDOT will be working on intersection improvements at Sam Ritt, Skylark, and Ashley Towne Center as part of 526 extension through Johns Island.

That appears to be an issue for the widening near Park Circle not the expansion through Johns Island.

But holy heck- I should have invested in land adjacent to 526 and banked the money they are throwing for displacement. College tuition and business loans on top of paying inflated value for the housing (and seemingly replacing it in kind?)... I need whoever negotiated that to mentor me.

Two hours south of whom?

Edit: Two hours south of Zuman, I take it.

Well if it's going to be delayed, how about some resurfacing. It's terrible every where.
