I need expert advice on how to kill these buggers. I got bit buy one twice and had a bad allergic reaction. O am now terrified to go in our yards. I'd drop dead if several bit me. I need to know what brand really does the job! Anyone have advice on products that worked good! Thanks!

Has anyone ever tried Aloe (straight from the plant) on an ant bite? I haven't but it popped into my head as I read this thread. Those bites can be brutal and I have taken benedryl when I've been bitten. I wonder if Aloe would help to treat a bite.

I am going to have to try aloe. I usually just wash the bites with cold water and then put witch hazel on. I don't get real itchy when I do this.

I find their mounds and use a brush handle to poke a few holes in it and flood it with a pesticide. Ive done it for 4 mounds at my new house and I havent seen them return.

I recently had a bite on the inside of my arm. At first I thought it was a staph infection because of the pain/pus/red hot area (pleasant, I know...sorry). After I asked a few people, I got the answer of either a spider bite or fire ant bite. I ended up using rubbing alcohol on it and it cleared after a few days (also took benedryl). Now I'm wondering if I should have tried aloe. My arm wasn't itchy but the bite actually caused pain with-in a few inch diameter and under my arm. I should probably have witch-hazel in the house but I don't....it can be used for a lot of things.

Many pesticides will kill the ones you see...but the queen is usually deep and will simply move the colony to another location.

Treat your entire yard not the individual mounds.

Ortho always worked for me. I had to use mounds that invaded the lights in my yard. I sprinkled some of this one them and they were gone they next day and haven't came back.
