This might be the most un-educated thing I have heard in the last 2 years. (There's over 1000 hits, but I don't want to take up all the room from this forum)

Yeah, I was very strong against the pushing of smokers outside because the research wasn't there and it was long known that the ALA supported it without the research supporting. But subsequent research is out and I get it, even if it's to get away from the smell of smoke. When I was a smoker, I had no idea how bad I reeked. Now that I don't smoke, the smell of after-cigarette smoke is disgusting and sad. There are places to smoke inside if you know where to look.

Although I'm a non-smoker, I think it's ridiculous that the local government can decide for a private business weather or not they are allowed to use a legal substance on their premises.

If you own a bar/restaurant, it should be entirely up to you.

As someone who has asthma and starts hacking up a lung anytime I'm around smoke, yes it certainly bothers me. I certainly don't think it needs to be banned outside though. Outside, you can move a few feet away and be alright.
