Finally had it with the constant pain and limited mobility and decided to have both knees replaced. Has anyone had this done and if so, were you satisfied with your surgeon and hospital? Did you have to go to in-patient rehab afterward? Thanks!
Don't know about that area; however, dear hubbie had his knee replacement done last January at East Cooper Medical Center by Dr. Schutte, who came from MUSC to start the Joint Replacement Program at East Cooper. Hubbie's knee was very complicated and Dr. Schutte did a great job. The hospital was great, we had no complaints.
I don't know what larger hospitals are in your area, but you might want to consider a larger center for a big surgery like that.
In Mt Pleasant, on Mathis Ferry Road - It would be a pretty straight shot for you coming up 17 north, through Charleston, over the Ravenel Bridge, and then at the 2nd light you would turn on Mathis Ferry and at the 3rd traffic circle you go in to the hospital.
Thanks! I'll put it on my list to consider. I'm not familiar with any of these docs as we will be moving to Bluffton this fall. Kathy
