Thx. Me too. At least his PC wants to find out as well. The Infectious Disease specialist really doesn't care - you'd think he'd be at least curious. In fact he was visibly annoyed when he learned that the PC had ordered the Lepto test.

Is there an update on this? I ventured into this Charleston area forum for info on an upcoming trip that my husband & I will be taking to Charleston. I was a little mystified & clicked on this link. I hope they have found a diagnosis soon.
I don't want to be alarmist but wanted to throw out another cautionary item that may help.
Have they done any bone marrow biopsies? I ask because my husband was mistakenly identified as having Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, then Ehrliciosis, & then months later after continued symptoms, a bone marrow biopsy turned up with Leukemia cells before they were released into his blood stream. This early detection saved his life (& we just celebrated 5 years of survival which means he is considered an official surviror). I hesitate to share this because I did not want to alarm but I thought it wortwhile to post in an effort to offer more things to be ruled out. I hope a treatable & especially confirmed diagnosis for your husband.
If you should have any specific questions, please feel free to PM me directly.
LoopDeLoop,
Wow. So glad you are celebrating your 5 years! Wonderful! It also seems you stayed on top of whatever his symptoms were...scary for Macalan to think about this, I'm sure, but it's always good to seek possible explanations.

Thanks. We were very thankful. Things were just off enough with his blood that they knew something was up but had no idea what. I hope so much that is not the OP's situation but wanted to throw it out as something that they may wish to consider in the battery of tests. Wishing the OP's husband a speed diagnosis and recovery!
Loop, thx so much for sharing your story and congrats to you and your husband.
I'm open to anything. We'll wait until the 2nd set of bloodwork on Oct 8th which will show antibodies or not - if nothing shows there, then we will explore other tests. I won't give up without an answer.
What were your husband's symptoms? How did they think to do a bone marrow biopsy?
We had bloodwork run yesterday, so are awaiting the results of that. So far, nothing has been out of whack other than high liver values, and slightly - very slight - low red blood cells.
Feel free to PM me if you 'd rather, and thx again.
We are all pulling for him. Please continue to keep us updated. I've actually come to the forum to see if you've updated his health status or if you've found any answers. Thinking of you guys!
