High school football in the area is one of the most popular sports. Schools like Summerville, Wando and Goose Creek often draw 5,000 fans or more to their games. This week, Summerville hosts West Ashley, Goose Creek hosts Dutch Fork, and Wando plays Fort Dorchester at Fort D, among other games.

I'd love to see that Dutch Fork-Goose Creek game, should be a heck of a game.

The author really down plays the amount of rebuilding going on at Timberland. Not only do the Wolves have a very young team this year, but they are basically retooling their entire offensive scheme, a lot more passing this season and very little option which has been a staple of their offense probably since Coach Craig has been there. having last week off should help, and hopefully the team will be hungry to make up for last year's debacle (probably the worse game I have ever seen Timberland play, ever). add to it there isn't exactly any love lost between the two coaches (or at least so I have heard) and it should be an interesting matchup.

Gamecock is right, the game of the week is Dutch Fork- Goose Creek @ Goose Creek!
I watch College games (ACC and SEC) , so I rarely go to a high school game, but this game should be worth going to.
I used to go to the Summerville - Stratford playoff games years ago when there would be close to 10,000 people !!!

>brasqo - Wando is no good this year man.

Yeah.. I literally just said that because it's the closest to my house and where the kids will be going when they get older (pending any rezoning down the road.)

Go Stratford! We went to their home game last Friday....they played a good game. I'm not really into football (the horror) but I do like to support the community and my kiddos' schools.

Goose Creek- Dutch Fork was a heckuva game, but as expected, the Gators pulled away in the 2nd half. No doubt Dutch Fork is for real- the athletes, coaching staff, students and parents have very right to be proud of their team.

Go Gators!

Yes, Rjs, I went out to the game...way out to Berkeley County! It was a good game, and yes the Creek is strong. I made the 30 minute drive from Charleston, but it was worth it and Congrats to the Gators!

Maybe, another good game, but there are so many great games Saturday that I will not miss! College!
Take your pick:
1. Florida State vs. Maryland
2. Clemson vs. Syracuse
3. South Carolina vs. Kentucky

Yes, I love the ACC and SEC, I am from the Southeast Coast!

Enjoy the game, if you go, I used to see Summerville vs. Stratford, back when Summerville never lost. Times have changed, I pick Stratford to win, and it will be great especially if the game is at Stratford.
