So my husband and I need to start thinking about where to live in MP. Our lease is up in our West Ashley apartment in January. We took a drive to Wando East Townhomes today, and they just aren't what we are looking for.
We need a place that will be dog-friendly, as we recently got a puppy. One that will also allow another dog, as we will be getting him a companion next summer/fall. Where we live in West Ashley, the community has a small dog park and lots of green space, so I would love to find a place like that in Mt Pleasant.
Budget: REALLY don't want to spend more than $1100 for a 2BR. May consider something higher if it includes utilities. Also, we are done with living on top floors. So we only want to live somewhere (top floor) if it has an elevator. If not, we want to live on a bottom floor but we need to know it is fairly quiet from neighbors.
I am sending you a link to a few pet friendly rentals. There are two in Park West and there is a dog park across the street plus all of the green space in the area. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the links. I should add we need to be south of the IOP connector. I'll be traveling to N Charleston to work and my husband will be going downtown. I would think living above the connector is too time consuming for us.

How long is that route to get to 526? Does it get pretty congested?
It takes me 12 minutes when I turn off of 41 to get to 526... this is off peak time though. I do not know about rush hour, but hopefully some other people do. I could ask my neighbor actually because that is his commute. I'll get back to you.

If you open your area to the Clements Ferry area it would give you more rent options and cut some drive time. I live in Park West and it takes me 25-30 minutes to get to N chuck and downtown (but I do not know during rush hour)
you could take long point to 526 or 17 to 526 or Clements Ferry.
Maybe I looked in the wrong places when first moving here. Our budget ($1000) was pretty low until I realized how hard it was to find a 2bd rental in MtP for under $1200, or any places that paid any utilities, other than trash. However, many places seem pet friendly for a fee and breed restrictions.
As for commutes, my husband works on Clements ferry near 526 & it takes him 15 min (leaving at 7am) to get to work from our Park West condo. About 20 min when he leaves work b/t 5-5:30p. I work downtown and it takes me 30-35 min leaving @ 7 am. For me, I don't mind the drive time but I wish there wasn't so much stop and go on 17.
