I always bookmarked articles about murders, shootings, etc in Mt P because I lived there for a long time and wanted to keep track of what may be a concern.

The last 7-8 years there have been like 10 murders, and a lot of armed robberies. Thank God we have a pretty good PD and they always catch the people.

Just looking at old articles, saw murders happened on Ben Sawyer, Long Point, Rivertown, Dunes West, Charleston National, Wando East, Fort Moultrie Hotel, Dingle Road, Bowman Road and a couple more. And the scum that kidnapped and killed the guy from Craigslist did it on the bridge or something and dumped the kid in Mt P. Sad. But, that's all over about 7-8 years. N Chas has that many in 1 year.

It's not North Charleston or Columbia by any means. But it certainly isn't Mayberry either.

Still a great place to live though.

Never hear of many eye stores getting robbed. How much cash do they even keep in the drawer? I would think most would be credit card/insurance payment.

As an aside, I can imagine this will be like a manna from heaven for all of the Mt P haters who love to point out each and every crime Mt P has to the nth degree. Funny how no Mt P resident has ever claimed we have no crime though.
Some would say the Rte 41 and Rte 17 intersection is an oasis in the middle of a desert. No doubt it is in a transitioning area from poor rural to upmarket urban.
