Was on a too short tour of your charming city; know I was a tourist though you all made me feel
at home!
Learned a lot of history of your town, founded about 1680, formerly called Charles Town; rice was
grown there and had the experience of touring the only tea plantation in the U.S. Also, on my free
day of the five day tour, dined in the afternoon at Jestines. FEASTED on a basket of white fish. fried okra, coleslaw made with vinegar and purchased a t-shirt with the saying of the back "Cooking collards when cooking collards wasn't cool." (!)
Had to ask someone now residing in South Carolina, if it was common for folks to be so friendly, being
a mature (not older!) woman. She explained it was and had delightful conservations with both sexes.
Also learned it is dear (costly) to live in downtown area, most folks live outside Charleston and commute.
Although it was unusually hot high 80's, low 90's for that time of year, did enjoy the weather and was
cold when I returned home to the 60's temperature.
Am praying about moving to the Carolinas to continue to enjoy the warmth of y'all and the weather.
Thank you for your hospitality !

AWWW! Thanks! I really hope your dreams come true! That means everything to see others find happiness!!!
It is generally a common practice by myself and my friends to be friendly to folks, I know that most everywhere I go, there's a sense of kindness towards others here that you mention.

Such kind words! When we are away from the area and people ask me where I live, I always say Charleston because it is recognizable. I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit and please some back. Your post is so positive and uplifting....gotta love that.....
I'm glad you had a good time and were made to feel comfortable. I hope I meet you on your next visit.
