Hi! I just got my termite insurance from HomeTeam Pest Defense. It went up again. $270 for the year.
Is this too much? What are you all paying? And from what company? I am sure that we do need it here although I'm about 30 minutes from the beach in Ladson.

Thanks for your input.

I have a few houses with Terminix and I think they're all about $260 per year too.

LOL...being close to the beach is irrelevant. In fact, the closer to the beach, the higher the moisture and the termites LOVE it.

BTW...ours is $250/year and has been the same price since we got it 2 years ago.

What do they do to earn the money ?Nothing! It is worst than having a life insurance policy. It only pays off if you have the darn termites. We live closer to Summerville than the beach so the bugs are less here than the beach.

Well it's arguable as to whether it's worth it or whether they "earn" their money but termites are just as prevalent in Summerville as they are close to the beach. Don't think you're any safer from them because you're inland a little bit.

You can buy the bait stations yourself and maintain them and I'm sure it's cheaper but you won't have the insurance.
