And there's a place for you to live how you want. No one here is saying that having an HOA with restrictive covenants is the only way to go. It's just A way to go. There's lots of neighborhoods happily going about their business with HOAs just like there are neighborhoods happily going about their business without. Typically those that have community owned land will have the HOA.

There's always a potential for extremes. What you're reading are possibly 1% of what actually goes on.

The point being, HOAs and restrictive covenants aren't some sort of boogey man for a majority of people who live with them.

Oh I know. Just offering an opinion, and we all know what those are like.

I live in a subdivision with an inactive hoa, meaning no dues collected, no common areas to maintain, convenient area and good schools. wanna buy my house? Just kidding....or not.

Summerville on the Ashley has no HOA. Very quiet neighborhood. It’s off of Bacons Bridge between Dorchester Road and Hwy 61 (Ashley River Road). There’s also a park being built just outside the neighborhood that will be similar to Wanamaker Park.
