Most Lidl grocery stores will have 36,170 sq ft. What about Food Lion? Is that unthinkable?
Publix's smallest prototype is 29,000 square feet. Four stores in that prototype operate in South Carolina.

Food Lion is unthinkable. It is closing stores instead of opening additional stores.

The hot rumor is it might be a Dollar General Market.

I thought Dollar General gave up on Dollar General Market. Most new stores it is opening are Dollar General stores.

They are still opening them here and there. They're also converting 41 former Walmart Express stores to Dollar General Markets with fresh meat and produce. There's one in Holly Hill, SC.

Dollar General would be smart to open more Dollar General Market stores.

I agree. I think the format is a real winner for low-income areas.

That looks like a Dollar General with a limited assortment of produce and meat products, not a Dollar General Market.
