My wife recently heard that the stuff (paper, cardboard, aluminum, glass, plastic, etc) we are putting in the big recycling bins is all is going straight to a landfill somewhere in the Myrtle Beach area and not even attempted to be recycled. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
Sounds like a combination of rumors and truth from a couple years ago. There’s three counties and three different recycling programs. The tossing recyclables in the landfill thing was what Dorchester County was doing briefly a couple years ago while they sorted out a new recycling contractor. https://www.postandcourier.com/archi...103561826.html
