I dont know anyone who would use this "joke' either... except for several transplants on this site....and being a scion of the I'On/Bond family ...on whose plantation the community was developed...I find it offensive .. especially given that source.

Hello, wondering why you made the move from Tampa area to SC? We are a catholic-french (upstate NY) family, professionals with 2 teenagers, 2 dogs, moving from WA state (we moved here 4 yrs ago from CT) now looking to go back to the east coast and thinking Tampa area but are also pulled to the Charleston area. Can you give us some opinions on this matter.

The original post is from 9 years ago so you might be better off starting a new thread with your questions. I lived in Tampa for a year but it was so many years ago, my memories of it would be no longer relevant.

Other local jokes:

What is the first thing you need when you move into Snee Far? A dumpster.

Sitting high up on Mount Pleasant looking down on West Ashley.

Does anyone know how diverse Daniel Island is? I have a friend who is newly married and her husband is Christian and she is Jewish. They are deciding whether to live on Daniel Island or Mount Pleasant. Can anyone help me with diversity in these two areas

There is likely to be more racial diversity in Mt Pleasant but I don't know about religious diversity. As per your other thread, I doubt they will find that it matters on a social level. I don't know of any synagogue in either Mt Pleasant or Daniel Island though Mt P does have The Center For Jewish Life.
