They are interviewing for those positions right now and will continue to expand. They are starting a DCE (Design Center of Excellence) in the building they closed on at 5400 International Blvd. They were looking at a building in Ladson. We are waiting on the offer and were told it would be by the end of the month. We are looking to be there in June.
Of course they are constantly interviewing as any large company will. I would never discourage anyone from applying. Boeing has many things going on. I also heard a report a few months back that they had committed to moving the DreamLifter line here as well.
Any idea the time frame for when the jobs would start? I mean even if they say they are expanding, it still takes time to build new work spaces?
Construction is not the hold up the interview process of hiring, will take longer. I believe they built the FAD building in 18 months.
Also they did move the head of dreamlifter operations to Charleston, and have been building their offices. I believe they already bought the SCRA, so there are tons of officespace not utilized. They also have been bulding up and "finishing" the empty floors in the new building.
Aft body expansion, beam structure looks pretty close to complete.
The other day I had to get a oddshaped pallet, for a special project and it was a nightmare just trying to get across all the construction with a forklift.
One think I can attest to... parking sucks. But as they say in the meetings better to work at a place with constant construction, and crappy parking then a place with plenty of parking, and closing down buildings.
Where is everyone finding these listings, I look at BESS everyday and can't find anything new...
