every time my mother goes to a salon to get her hair blond they never can fix it .her hair is dark brown there are alot of women who go from black -dark brown to blonde . they keep saying they can make it that color but never can. and they come up with the same thing that the other salon dont know what their doing but they can . and they rush leave the stuff on for only 10 mins and say thats the longest they can keep it on,
today she tried no good the lady showed us hair swatches and pic of blond hair . she got mad cause she was ready to rinse the stuff of and i asked to look at it and when i seen it was red and said can she leave it longer.
the came out looking horrible , its brown and orange .
is there a decent hair colorist who knows what thier doing?
(i know this can be done cause one salon did it for her but there not here any more )
any help thanks

What part of Charleston do you want to go to for the service. I go to a great place in Mount Pleasant. It's called Illusions at Park west. Ask for Michelle she is the owner and a color specialist.

Does anyone know what the pricing is for a color at any of these places? I went somewhere recently that was $150 bucks and wasn't the greatest outcome... it's hard to find someone good that you trust

My daughter's hair was 'saved' yesterday by Noelle at the Stella Nova in Towne Center. She did a hair model cut/color at a local salon this weekend and couldn't go to work or school the next day. (School because of embarrasement and work because I guarantee they wouldn't have let her). The salon that did it to her couldn't get her in to fix it so I called Stella Nova and they worked to get her in... Noelle had to give her the best color to take out the red and orange streaks she was given without completely damaging her hair. It was $250 but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I hope the first salon forked over the $250. Color correction is very expensive, and though she did sign up for it.....if it was THAT bad they should have taken measures to make sure it wasn't a catastrophe.

In a salon, the stylists should be licensed which means they have at least learned color theory. The managing 'lead' stylists or educators should have been on top of it enough to not have a major issue. I would absolutely call and complain VERY loudly.

Off the soapbox now!

Yeah, I'll go ahead and let them know we went elsewhere to fix it, but I doubt they'll help monetarily since (I think) they would have fixed it if I'd waited another day for their availability. And... (okay, don't laugh at me), I signed a waiver that probably allowed them to do whatever they wanted. Didn't bother reading it because she's done these before with national product shows and the this salon said they wouldn't cut. (I think they just got a little excited). From what I've heard, their skill is okay, it's just they went really 'funky' and now that it's over, am hearing is their style. Shame on me for not checking into that. (Which is why I didn't mention their name here). My main reason for being upset is they agreed to NOT do anything weird with the color, and weren't going to cut it. But thank you!

By the way, the red and orange streaks were there by design. I swear it looked like the spray paint my younger daughter's soccer team used to streak their hair for their games
