I asked my husband and he said he has heard no plans for this property. We believe it to be Heirs property and they will most likely hold on to it.

Any of the 10 remaining native Charlestonians remember the old bumper stickers that said, "Save The Wando."?

Much would depend upon the type, density, buffering, access and other relevant factors related to the type of commercial development that were to go in that area. I would think that the town of Mt. Pleasant Planning Office as well as residents and communities affected by proposed commercial development for that tract would have much to say about the type of commercial construction allowed. The town of Mt. Pleasant has been fairly good in the past in minimizing as much as possible any negative impact commercial development might have on adjacent and nearby residential tracts.
