My wife and I visited Charleston last year and plan to do so again September 20-24. While there, we would like to spend some time looking at various neighborhoods in the areas around Charleston. We would like to see what's available in the 250-300k range, as that is what we hope to net from the sale of our house in Montgomery Cty, MD (in the DC metropolitan area). We don't really want another mortgage if we can avoid it. I am presently retired; however, my wife, a CPA, is still working and hopes to do so for quite a few years. We'd be interested in finding out about the availability of jobs for accountants, CPAs, etc. in Charleston and its suburbs. We'd also be interested in hearing about real estate agents that you have had good experiences with and that wouldn't mind taking an afternoon to show us homes in the above range, hopefully in Summerville, Mt. Pleasant, etc.
