How are you? Im a huge lacrosse guy and i am planning on moving to charleston ...Mount Pleasant in next year. My son is 17 months old and i have one on the way. As soon as we sell our place we will be in Charleston. I playe lax all my life ....college at CW post university 2 time all american and had the pleasure to play in national championship 2 years in a row....however we lost both. I played fo LI Hofstra club lax for years and had to end career due to a stent in my heart (blockege) Im doing great now and may pick up playing club again some time in future. But real love will be putting together program or helping any programs in the area. Im currently training goalies ....but cant wait for son to get to plaYING age. I hope he loves the game the way i do. Just want to let you know its great to see someone with the intrrest i have in the game and making it grow. keep in touch and as i get closer to going SC i will be in touch. Lax forever

Charleston Men's Lacrosse

Not just transplants (eventhough that is what I am) but in addition to young people that maybe say... played football in college and never made it to the next level. Lax is a natural replacement.

I was thinking more of the kids. The coaches, the organizers, etc. will be mainly transplants.

Lacrosse is very big in my hometown, we brought the sport to the state of ohio in the 70s along with a few other schools and have been one of the powerhouses since. I never really got too much experience on the organize level due to being into other sports (soccer and football) but I have played pick up games with friends many of whom went on to play college at dartmouth, virginia and some ohio schools. I dont know alot about the rules of the game and im not the largest guy but I have great sticks skills (both mid and dpole) and im fast, I would enjoy playing when I arrive in the fall

Sounds like we got a lot of interest!

thank you RedHawk for the Link to Charleston Men's Lacrosse Club, that's great contact info to have for guys coming in looking to play

Laxmax - I played at Mercyhurst, so I am fully aware of CW Post and have played you guys quite a bit. Very talented teams.

I definately have a lot of interest in getting involved coaching/organizing youth leagues, Men's leagues and the like when I arrive down there next summer. Great to see the sport growing and I know there are several high schools in the area who have very competitive teams.

Are there other practice facilities than Park West Development that Laxmax pointed out??
