If plans work out, the old school and a few old empty houses will be destroyed for the new Sheetz.

If you read the article, you will see that here is a lot of opposition to this project due to it's proximity to a residential neighborhood. I would be very surprised if this goes through as planned.

there is opposition to almost every project that has ever been planned. If Jim Smith is smart, which he is, then he will make the case that the benifits far pass the few disadvantages of a Sheetz. I think that this one is going to take place because I know Jim Smith's drive and his history with retail development.

News of a new Sheetz near Rock Branch Elementary School between Nitro and Poca (intersection of 61/25). Will be Putnam County's 3rd. Intersting location for a Sheetz, but they probably know more on the matter than I do. LOL

This is really exciting news for Charleston!

Maybe this will also lead to a BP opening too!

Lol, and maybe they will have restrooms inside the building instead of borrowing a key and going around back

Another Sheetz plans to build in Putnam County on 34 across from Speedway. With this, Putnam County will have four Sheetz locations given the proposed Sheetz in Poca/Nitro area.
Putnam zoning board OKs plans for new Sheetz* - Putnam County - Charleston Daily Mail - West Virginia News and Sports -

still no word on the proposed Sheetz on Charleston's West Side.
