Moving to Charleston in next couple of months. Need info on Fishing, canoeing , fishing, mtn biking and road biking. I know time of year is not going to be ideal but info still needed.
The city of Charleston has really been blessed with having two great river in the Kanawha and the Elk. The Kanawha is great for boating, some fishing, water sports, and just relaxing beside it. The Elk is really good for fishing, canoeing, and even some parts swimming. Mountain Biking can be done at Kanawha State Forrest (about 20 mins) or at Coonskin Park. Road biking can be really anywhere that is not heavy traffic. I Blvd is a good bike ride, but isn't he best the city has.
As for time of year, really anytime from April-November is good for most of these. Maybe not canoeing during that time. Coonskin Park is a great park for just about anything; golf, tennis, hiking, biking, fishing, picnic, ect...
