In one web site i heard there was a vibrant jazz scene, but maybe not if nobody responds, thinking of moving from new england where there's eight million muscians for every job, but am also looking at Lexington, is that a cleaner city, more discretionary income?? Johnny
I can't speak on the Charleston Jazz scene much but I know that Huntington has a decent amount of Jazz. Marshall University has the Jomie Jazz Center and every year the center puts on a festival called Jazz-MU-tazz. There is also a Jazz fest every year at Pullman square put on by local musicians and the staff at the Jazz center. Pullman Square also has a summer concert series held every weekend in the summer that features some jazz performers. I don't follow jazz too much but there was an article in the local paper about one of the local clubs having a lot of Jazz performers including one that has started performing there regularly. The name of the club was the V-club I believe. There is also a newer club (called Rocco's 21 Club) in the Frederick building that was supposed to have a lot of jazz. So if Jazz is what you are looking for, consider Huntington. Here is a link from today's paper about one of the jazz festivals.

Tim,
You're so nice, answering everyone's questions, including my own. By the way, I did go see We Are Marshall. What a great movie!!! I did cry a bit though. Huntington looks so pretty, can't wait to see it.
I'm just proud of the Huntington area and want others to know what it has to offer. Glad you liked the movie. I thought it was very good myself.
