Have searched this forum but could use some personalized help.

My husband and I are moving to Charlotte soon and are having trouble finding a good apartment. We've visited several and liked a couple but online reviews are generally awful. For example, we liked the look of apts and the location of Eastover apts in Dilworth area, but they were pretty expensive and seemed to be occupied by a much too young/rowdy party crowd. Our other choice was Crestmont at Ballantyne, but the online reviews were horrible. We also considered Post Ballantyne which seemed to be nice but were expensive and we didn't love the area.

We'd prefer to be in the Elizabeth or Dilworth areas but have had trouble finding nice, safe, non-party complexes around there. That's why we also looked at Ballantyne, even though we MUCH prefer the neighborhood feel of Dilworth. We'd also consider the South Park area.

Basically, we want something within $1,000 price range, newer units, nice pool, quiet location, would prefer nice dog walking options (i.e., not on highway surrounded only by strip malls), safe area, but would love to be closer to uptown/dilworth/noda/plaza-midwood than ballantyne is. This might not be possible, but we'd love to hear any apt recommendations that cover at least some of these preferences.

Thanks so much!!!!

Hi,
I think maybe one of the issues might be in finding a place is that many of the apartment complexes in Elizabeth and Dilworth tend to be small (maybe only 4-12 units) and so may be under the radar. I think the most efficient way to find places in these two neighborhoods is to drive around and write down phone numbers - there are more condos in the those areas where owners are renting a unit. Vail Avenue in Elizabeth has some nice, recently renovated units though. These types of units don't tend to have pools, but are really interated into the neighborhoods and as they are generally surrounded by single family units tend to be quieter and safer. Good luck!
