Hello,

My name is Mee (a bear in Thai). I just moved to Charlotte from Florida. I'm looking forward to meet Thai people here. Does anyone know any Thai student here?

Anyway, I've been to several Thai restaurants here but haven't found the one I like yet.

Is there any suggestion? I'm looking for something that native Thai would order. For example, Somtum (Thai spicy salad a.k.a. Papaya salad), Moo Ping (Thai grilled pork), Yum Pha Duk Foo (crispy fried fish spicy salad) and etc...

Well...I supposed I can ask those restaurants I went to. Perhaps they can suggest me some places.

I haven't found any really good Thai here yet. There is a new place uptown called Basil's that I haven't been too yet. It might be good.

We lived in Bangkok for four years. There is a very authentic Thai restaurant called BO THAI in Lancaster, SC about 30-45 minutes south of Charlotte. In season, they even have mango and sticky rice My husband loves to go there to eat and speak Thai!

you may want to check out Lang Van on Shamrock and Eastway... it's an authentic vietnamese restaurant. They'll know other places to check out too...

Have you been to Deejai? I was there once and really enjoyed it--and they seemed to be willing to make custom-ordered dishes.
