RUN away from Top 10 lists. There is one for everything and one to say whatever you want it to say. If you are that concerned, narrow it down to where you want to live and actually visit the schools. You will know from the second you walk in if its a school for you.

Doing a check on the principal might not help much. I know of one high school where they have had 3 different principals in 3 years. CMS likes to shift them around telling no one until the move is made..

I hate to be completely swayed by hearsay but I must admit I am swinging away from even considering CMS. I'm looking above and below the Charlotte area. I really did try to give it a chance but I am struggling to make the school/home connection in CMS (I find TONS of homes I love but few schools and they are in transition.)
