Why are there so many homes for sale in the Highland Creek area? Anyone know?

I'm guessing it's because the Highland Creek community is huge, I'd say well over 1,000 homes. With that many homes, you're bound to have a bunch on the market at any given time. I'd be surprised if the percentage of homes for sale as compared to total homes in the community is larger at Highland Creek than the average home community. Seems like a nice, feature-filled community to me in a good area.

Seahawks is 100% on the money. I used to live there, it's a great community. I will say that the area does not escalate in value as fast as some other Charlotte areas (it topped out around 1997-00), but I still love it there and would consider moving back.

Thanks for your responses. I was thinking maybe it was a bad area or something but most of the houses I've seen are gorgeous so I had a hard time believing that was the case.

Thanks for clearing that up.

There are about 3000 homes. It is a really great neighborhood. You can not go wrong buying in Highland Creek.

Many people that are looking to buy in that area are deciding on newer developments further on up the road making it harder for people to sell their house that own in Highland Creek.

This info comes from my buyers agent who is very active in that area.

Highland Creek Elementary opened last year. This is year two. It's a great school. We received a new principal. Dr. Ann Nivens formerly the principal at Lake Norman Elementary.
