I thought this was good advice to share.

CRIME INCREASE IN YOUR AREA

The purpose of this email is to alert you to an increase in crime in your neighborhoods. The first crime is Larceny From Auto where we have seen an increase in residential neighborhoods. Suspects are targeting mainly unlocked vehicles and taking anything of value. (GPS units, ipods, laptops, cameras, currency, wallets, purses, etc). Please take all valuables from your vehicles when parked and unattended. Lock you vehicle. It is very important that you call 911 if you see anything out of the ordinary or suspicious in your area.

Also, we have seen an increase in lawn equipement being stolen. Suspects are targeting storage sheds and garages for lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc. Please keep these items locked up and out of sight when not in use.

It's very important that you know your items' serial numbers, make, model, color and other descriptors. Take the time this weekend to inventory all of your valuables from the GPS unit in your car to the tv's in your home. Take pictures of these items and keep them on file. In the event any of your items are stolen, this information makes it much easier to return the item to you when located.

If you look online, there are many websites that offer a free Home Inventory Survey.

Please pass this along to your friends and neighbors and again, PLEASE CALL 911 IF YOU SEE ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS.
