What would you call the area of Charlotte that includes the Piper Glen, Raintree, Hembstead, and Providence Plantation neighborhoods? Is there one term that sums all those up?

Some are in SE and some are in SW Charlotte. That's a distance from Piper to Providence, so there really isn't one term for all of them except for "South".

Really? On the map I have Piper Glen Estates, Raintree, Hembstead, and Providence Plantation neighborhoods are all right next to each other, south of Pineville-Matthews Road, all sharing a common border along Providence Road. So what would you call the area along that stretch of Providence, south of Pineville-Matthews but north of I-485?

Maybe I am thinking of a different Providence or Plantation. I would call that area SE Charlotte or Piper Glenn (most would call it the latter).

Raintree, Hembstead and Providence Plantation are considered in the "Arboretum" area, Piper Glen is its own "Piper Glen" area. Other great locations are the "Ballantyne" Area, and "Blakeney" area and "Stonecrest" area.

Hope this helps.

Those are in the Southeast Charlotte area and no where near the Southwest Charlotte area.

It's area 5 in real estate terms.

What would the boundaries of the Arboretum area be then?

Agree -- those are in south and southeast charlotte. None is in SW...

The Arboretum is on the corner of Providence Road and Pineville-Matthews Road (51). Hembstead and Raintree are closest.

Groove, I beg to differ

None of these neighborhoods is in southwest Charlotte. These are all known as neighborhoods in "south Charlotte", and they really aren't that far from each other at all.

Maybe you were thinking of The Palasaides out on Lake Wylie in Steele Creek?

p.s. Didn't read everyone else's responses before responding to yours! Hope you don't feel ganged up on!
