Hi Everyone in the Charlotte area,

I'm seeking feed back on living in South Charlotte, Cornelius(Lake Norman), Davidson, Huntersville or any suggested areas are welcome . I'm a young retired african american lady, single, in my mid 40's, very active and relocating from Southern California. I'm so tired of southern cal and looking to retire in a friendly environment. I don't have issues with driving to go out for entertainment as a matter of fact I enjoy going to many areas away from home for all of my life, just to get out and about however, I perfer living in an upscale neighborhood thats quite and safe. Enjoy all the basics - bike riding, golf, movies, love out door concerts, BBQ in backyard etc, wine tasting, you name it. Looking for a better tax scale than California . I'm open to other cities in North Carolina as well, all opinions welcome. Thanks so kindly for everyone's input!

You should plan a visit to see if Charlotte is a good fit for you. It's a beautiful city with plenty to do, and the ocean and mountains are close by. I think the weather and location are its two best attributes! Btw, how fabulous that you are already retired in your 40s! Good for you!!

I'm very jealous that you are in your forties and retired. I think there are lots of areas around Charlotte that would suit you. You might want to check out the Ballantyne area - lots of new development, planned communities - shopping and restaurants.
